This is just a weaving project update and not a full-blown article. Sorry, folks, just not feelin’ it right now. 😦
Wove an 8″ wide scarf with warp and weft in two different cashmere blend yarns:
Warp (the yarn that runs lengthwise): Skein Himalaya (80% Merino, 20% Cashmere), DK weight. Colorway: Make Hay While the Sun Shines.
Weft (the yarn that runs across the width): Handmaiden Fine Yarn Casbah Sock (80% Merino, 10% Cashmere, 10% Nylon), fingering weight. Colorway: Earth.
Since these are knitting/crocheting yarns, I had to be careful with the edges of the scarf being consistent as well as watching the tension on the loom so the yarns wouldn’t break.
Because I used a heavier gauge yarn for the warp than the weft, I expected, and achieved, a nice drape as a result. Turned out nicely even though I would’ve changed the fringes a bit by making them longer and thinner. Otherwise, this scarf was swapped and is being appreciated by its new owner!
Although it was an enjoyable weave, alas, brown is not my favorite to work with–just so boring. But the scarf turned out kinda pretty with the variances in colors and it’s very, very soft!
That’s it for now. I’ll have a finished knitted shawl to show you shortly!
I love the different hues of brown. This is gorgeous.

Brown rocks. Neutral and goes with everything. Very earthy. One of my favorites to wear.

That’s awesome! Yeah, I figured if it didn’t swap, I’d just keep it because it would still go with my black wool coat. And it’s cashmere. I love cashmere. 🙂

I’m stuck in a brown swamp at the moment with my Rhinebeck sweater. It’s going to be awesome to wear, it has gotten a bit boring to look at though. I feel your pain!
