Black Widow Choker and Wristlets Sample Knits

I was able to knit up samples (in a weekend!) for Lisa Barnes of LMB Designs for her newly revised patterns, Black Widow Spider Choker and Widow’s Spider Web Wristlets. What’s cool about them is that they use glow-in-the-dark thread!

They are currently on sale for $6 individually, but if you purchase both patterns together, you’ll save $2!

Here are the links to my project pages for quantities used for the Glow-in-the-Dark Black Widow Spider Choker and the Glow-in-the-Dark Widow’s Spider Web Wristlets.

Both use this lovely mohair/acrylic blend base of Kraemer Yarns Fountain Hill Brushed Mohair in colorway, Feather:

And both use this glow-in-the-dark thread, Kreinik Metallic Blending Filament in Colorway 052F Glow-In-The-Dark Grapefruit. This is what it looks like normally:

This is what it looks like when it has been exposed to light, then the lights turn off:

Cool, huh?

The black widow spider is made of Kreinik Micro Ice Chenille in colorway 05 Black. I like how it looks “hairy.”

The red hourglass shape on the spider is made with Kreinik Heavy #32 Braid in colorway 003 Red:

You can substitute yarn and thread in the pattern, no worries!

Here is a photo of it without buttons yet in normal lighting . . .

See how cool it is that it glows in the dark under black light!

Here’s the wristlet in normal light:

And glowing in the dark under black light!

This is how it stays on:

Aren’t they cleverly built! These are also comfortable to wear, too!

So, if you’re not a dress-up-for-Halloween person, you can make these up and participate in the “spirit” of the holiday!
