I responded to a call for testers for a Meridith Shepherd Designs design called Faeth Shawl. And opted for the DK weight version. (The pattern can be knit from lace weight to bulky.)
For my test version, I used Anzula Oasis in colorway Prudence. Anzula Oasis is comprised of 70% silk and 30% camel. Very soft and very warm!
Isn’t the colorway gorgeous!
The pattern starts with the cable and lace section and it is really fun to knit!
The body is made with short rows that don’t require wrapping, just stop after a certain number of stitches, turn the work, and continue knitting for another certain number of stitches.
The cable and lace section is charted as well as written out for those who prefer written instructions over reading charts. I haven’t knit any of Meridith’s well-written patterns before, but after this experience, it won’t be the last!
The shawl knit up quickly. I had an entire weekend to work on it because hubby had to work. So, I finished the DK version in 2 days! (Your mileage may vary.)
I love how it looks so complicated, but wasn’t. The cool thing is, after doing a test knit, Meridith will give the testers the final pattern for their Ravelry library.
I look forward to knitting this lovely shawl again!
Beautiful!

It’s so beautiful! On a side note, I haven’t been ignoring you. I think WordPress unsubscribed me from your email list, which happened with my hubby’s blog too. Going to try to resubscribe….

Thank you! And how strange about WP unsubscribing. Gotta love technology!
