Steampunk River Shawlette Test

If you’re looking for something quick to knit up that you can take on a road trip or to knit night, I have a pattern for you! Ann Alger’s Steampunk River Shawlette!

I used Dream in Color Smooshy with Cashmere for this one. It’s 70% Merino, 20% Cashmere and 10% Nylon in colorway Celebrating the Games which was The Loopy Ewe exclusive colorway during the Olympics.

DIC Celebrating

I was lucky that Steampunk River is adjustable because I ended up with a skein that was short some yards, so I was able to just knit a few garter rows less before binding off and it worked out perfectly!

Not sure you have enough yarn for a project? Just weigh your yarn on a kitchen scale and keep track periodically to see what you have left so you’re not playing yarn chicken near the end. And use a lifeline—that’s always a good plan!

I love the softness of the cashmere. Makes it a pleasure to knit with. This shawlette is soft and cozy and would make a quick and easy handknit for you or someone special. Mine is on sale on my pattern page.

Pick up Ann’s pattern, Steampunk River Shawlette, on Ravelry! And enjoy the no-stress knitting!

What’s next? Stay tuned!
