Win this Sweet Anemone Pattern!

Do you have a growing stash of variegated yarns waiting to be transformed into something special?

Have you jumped on the speckled yarn bandwagon but have no idea what to make out of them?

Or can’t find anything to make out of a lovely skein of semi-solid that has only 400 yards?

All these precious single skeins of fingering weight yarn patiently waiting for the perfect project?

Me, too! So, I created Sweet Anemone!

Sweet Anemone is a one-skein shawlette that’ll be perfect for stress-free TV watching or socializing at knit night! This is a purl-free project for traveling or between more complex projects when you want a quick knit that isn’t boring. The result is a beautiful, reversible shawlette that looks great when you’re out-on-the-town or running errands in jeans!

All you need is one skein of fingering weight yarn approximately 395-400 yds minimum. Gauge is not important in this pattern. And if you dislike purling, this pattern is definitely for you! Once you get a rhythm going, you can just read your knitting without having to look at the pattern. Stitch counts are provided at the end of each section so you’ll be lined up correctly for the final border. Written instructions and charts are included for the lace sections. This pattern has been faithfully tested for your peace of mind.

Wow! The creation of this pattern really took some work! I have a new appreciation for the boomerang shape and the challenge it presents with increasing on one side and decreasing on the other! One word . . . MATH.  😛

But it was SOOO worth it!  (I hope you agree!)

This Sweet Anemone variegated sample is knitted with madelinetosh Tosh Sock in colorway Mare. The depth of this colorway is incredible. The 100% Merino is soft and warm! I am also selling this shawl in my Etsy shop!

Why the name Sweet Anemone?

I loved this little lace pattern that looked like a flower and wondered what kind of flower it could be. After a search of the web, I found the photo below at this page with more information about the Poppy Anemone (also known as the Spanish Marigold or poppy coronaria). I think they look very similar, don’t you think? 🙂

This speckle dyed yarn sample is knitted with Phydeaux Yarns Soie in colorway Ghost. 50% silk / 50% Merino. The drape is amazing. This shawl is for sale in my Etsy shop, too!

My lovely tester, Ann, created her version with variegated Zen Yarn Garden Serenity Silk Singles in colorway Mermaid. Aren’t these photos her hubby took of her gorgeous!
