Introducing Twyst Shawlette and Giveaway!

Twyst Shawlette is your go-to pattern for one skein (200 yards or more per 100g skein) of worsted, DK, sport or fingering weight yarn.

Perfect for handspun, variegated, “why-did-I-buy-only-one-skein-of-this?” and is easily adjustable ~ knit until you run out of yarn!

Bonus photo tutorial shows you how to read your knitting so you can knit it without having to refer to the pattern.

Goes fast (it’s only 200 yards)! And if you’re constantly interrupted or would like something to take on a trip without worrying about a pattern, Twyst Shawlette is for you!

Black Velvet Twyst was knit up in madelinetosh Tosh Merino DK in colorway Black Velvet. I used up all 225 yards since this pattern is adjustable to the yarn amount you have. The blocked size is a nice 51″ from tip to tip and 14″ deep at the center. Before wet blocking, it was 37″ x 12″, so it grew quite a bit.

Black Velvet Twyst is for sale in my Etsy shop.

Mermaid Shoes Twyst was knit up in Dream in Color Classy with Cashmere in colorway Mermaid Shoes. I used about 194 yards and it blocked to 51″ from tip to tip and 12″ deep at the center. Before wet blocking, it was 39″ x 10.5″, so it grew to a nice size as well.

Why “Twyst”?
The twisted stitches look like the letter “y” (upside-down) so I decided to spell “Twyst” with a “y”!

I created Twyst Shawlette to use up single skeins of worsted, DK, sport and fingering weight yarns in my stash. Even handspun will also look great knit up in this pattern—just make sure the needle size is appropriate to give a nice drape to your fabric. This will knit up like squishy ribbing, but after wet blocking, it opens up to make the stitches stand out and becomes a nice shawlette size!

I’ve also included a bonus photo tutorial in the pattern to teach you how to read your work so you won’t have to follow a pattern once you get the hang of it!

It’s so nice to be able to pick up some knitting and know just by looking at it, where you are in the pattern. Works well when you’re interrupted a lot, binge watching tv, attending sporting events or outdoor concerts, babysitting or even traveling. It’s a great go-to pattern when you’re between larger or fussier projects or just need something to mindlessly knit to relax.

Twyst Shawlette doesn’t take long to knit up (it’s only 200 yards!) so you could even knit one up quickly for Ravelry’s Ravellenic Games 2016!

Such a cute knit! I’m definitely liking the ability to pick up and put down without worrying about the pattern aspect to it. What with a new baby and all who isn’t quite two months yet, I don’t get to just sit and power knit anymore.
