Sporty Gilet Vest with the Addi Express Pro

Some of you may know I acquired an Addi Express Pro knitting machine. It’s a pretty cool gadget! With it, I test knitted the Sporty Gilet Vest pattern by Jimenez Joseph. Here it is!

I wanted to try using a widely available and reasonably priced yarn, so I purchased Premier Yarns Deborah Norville Everyday Soft Worsted in colorways Spa and Cream. I have used this yarn before and it takes a licking, but continues to look great. It’s really soft and warm.

Well, it turned out fabulous! The Addi Express Pro had no major issues with the yarn. If I knit it again, I would probably do so with Merino wool to see what that’s like.

But here’s the important thing . . . It took only FIVE DAYS TOTAL to knit this vest to completion. The Addi did all the boring stockinette knitting that I would never have done if I had to knit that all by hand.

My project page has all the details if you’re interested. The pattern was EXTREMELY well-written and frankly, the layout was quite beautiful. I highly recommend this pattern for someone interested in making a very nice clothing item with their Addi Express Pro. Check the Sporty Gilet Vest pattern details out here!

Also, get 20% OFF with coupon code “sporty20”. The offer ends midnight GMT 22nd March 2017.

Okay, back to work on another pretty thing!

that’s what knitting machines are for!

i need a yarn for swatching and picture-taking that isn’t full of fibrous pieces. do you think this yarn would fit the bill? i tried Patons Classic Wool but it has too many edges that come out and show up in pics :/

Knitting machines are awesome! (When they work–so far, so good!) This yarn was pretty good, but it’s acrylic. So if you want a good wool yarn, I have to recommend Malabrigo, Madelinetosh, Miss Babs or Knitwhits Freia yarns for starters. Very smooth and beautiful colors.
